Accurate Answers Start With the Right Diagnostics

Cats are notoriously good at hiding when they do not feel well, which is why timely, thorough diagnostics are so important. Whether your cat is showing subtle signs like changes in appetite or behavior, or more obvious symptoms like vomiting or lethargy, our team uses a combination of physical exams, lab work, and imaging to get to the bottom of what is going on.

At Pet Wellness Group, our diagnostic care for cats is designed to be efficient, comfortable, and as stress-free as possible, so we can find answers without adding unnecessary anxiety for your feline friend.

Bloodwork to Detect Issues Early

Routine bloodwork is one of the most valuable tools we have for catching health concerns early, often before any outward symptoms appear. Our preventative screening panels are tailored to your cat's age, lifestyle, and risk factors, helping us monitor their health year after year.

Our preventative screening services for cats include:

  • Feline Combo Test – Screens for Feline Leukemia (FeLV) and Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV), two serious viral infections that can affect your cat's long-term health.
  • Intestinal parasite screens – Fecal screens that test for hookworms, roundworms, and whipworms. These tests not only identify potential harmful parasites for your cat, but also those that can be passed on to you and your family.
  • Adult Wellness – As cats enter their adult years (5 to 6 years), we recommend annual wellness bloodwork to help identify early onset of illness that may not be apparent based on clinical signs or examination.
  • Senior Wellness – Similar to the Adult Wellness panel, we recommend a more comprehensive screen for senior cats (7 years and older). The Senior Wellness screen is a larger blood panel, along with a urinalysis, to evaluate kidney function and overall health.
